The squad reunites to investigate the shocking shooting of their former Shift Commander, Al "Gee" Giardello (Yaphet Kotto).

Gee is running for Mayor of Baltimore, but his controversial platform has made him a target for enemies. Just moments before delivering a political speech, he is attacked and critically wounded. The tight-knit team, including familiar faces Bolander, Munch, Pembleton, Bayliss, and Kellerman come together once more to solve the case.
